Exciting New Features and Improvements
Greetings Infinite Realms enthusiasts! We are excited to announce the upcoming release of Infinite Realms version 2023.0.0. This update brings a host of new features, refinements, and bug fixes to enhance your digital battle map experience for tabletop role-playing games. This version is themed “Quality of Life“ update! In this blog post, we’ll explore these updates in more detail, showcasing how they will improve your gaming sessions.
New Features and Improvements
The new Scenario Manager window will make managing your scenes more efficient than ever. You can now sort, add, and delete scenes and manage basic settings for all scenes in a scenario without having to load them first. For those who prefer the old method, the dropdown for quick scene switching remains available as a convenient alternative.
In addition to the Scenario Manager, we have introduced a mandatory 2D image or video “Home Scene” with reduced functionality. This Home Scene serves as both an adventure landing page and the player loading screen, as well as the “Lock Screen” in dual display mode.
Measurement preferences have also been updated, with the imperial system now supported and set as the default option. For those who prefer using the metric system, it can easily be re-enabled in the settings.
We have made several improvements to the Sound Stage, including refactoring the previously laggy clip loading system for better performance. The album dropdown now only displays albums available in the selected category, and both the Sound Stage and Look Preset windows save filters and search keywords for the duration of the session.
The scene loading system has been revamped, transitioning from a screen cover tie-in system to an event-based system. This change will improve loading times and overall performance. Additionally, the loading sequence status now provides more detailed information.
We have also completely rewritten the screen cover system, replacing the previous messy setup with two separate systems for GMs and players. This overhaul will enhance the user experience and streamline the interface.
To provide helpful guidance, we’ve added “Quick Tip” texts to the GM loading screen. These tips will offer valuable information and advice to GMs to use Infinite Realms.
The update also includes all bug fixes up to version 2022.1.2, such as addressing an issue where a rotated 2D image would not resize to fit the screen width at the default scale. Additionally, various other minor fixes and improvements have been implemented to enhance the overall user experience.
